The development team at The Creative Assembly is aiming to offer more support than ever for mods in its upcoming Total War: Attila, and an Assembly Kit is at the moment being created by the studio and might be delivered as soon as April of this year.

The company held an official Mod Summit last week and talked with some of the best content creators from the community in order to get a better idea of what they would like to see included in terms of tools to make their efforts easier.

A full list of the features that have been revealed for the Assembly Kit for Total War: Attila can be seen by clicking on the button at the end of this article or by checking the official wiki for the title.

It seems that gamers will be able to tweak custom battles, historical battles, the campaign map, units and factions.

The elements of Total War: Attila that will not be opened to modding include campaign logic like collision and pathfinding, raw terrain info, and settlement positioning.

The Creative Assembly says that the features of the Assembly Kit might still change and that it does not have an official launch date yet.

It will be interesting to see whether the major mods that currently use Rome II will move to the new game as soon as possible or if it will take some time for them to make the switch.

Total War: Attila will focus on the decline of empires

Total War: Attila is at the moment set to arrive on February 17 on the PC.

Gamers will be able to take control of a variety of factions during the period in history when the Roman Empire is entering its decline and is besieged by major barbarian tribes on all sides.

The studio wants climate change, fear and fire to play major roles in the movement of armies on the campaign maps and the tactical battles.

A range of factions will be able to migrate and greatly increase their combat power as they try to find fertile regions where they can settle down and rebuild.

The Huns will always exist as hordes in Total War: Attila, while empires, including the Romans and the Sassanids, will have to stay put and fight defensive wars to stop them.
