Video game developer The Creative Assembly and publisher SEGA are announcing that they will launch a new update for Total War: Attila next week, called Tin Isle Mercenaries, which is designed to introduce a range of new units to the title and to add a range of both bug fixes and balance changes that will improve the strategy title.

Gamers will be able to get access to a range of military units that will offer their services to all those who get in the general area of Britain and can pay their asked price.

The new additions are not linked to the Celtic Culture pack that is also coming to Total War: Attila and will use the new Guerrilla Deployment trait, which will give them the option of starting battles in new locations and to attack the enemy from unexpected directions in order to disrupt their plans.

The list of new units coming in the Tin Isle Mercenaries pack includes brigands, cavalry, marauders and gazehounds and there are balancing tweaks for all other units.

The official announcement for the new update also offers details on the improvements coming to Total War: Attila, including a new diplomacy setting that makes computer-controlled factions more friendly and open to trade in the first 100 turns and also tweaks the behavior of the hordes.

The Creative Assembly is also introducing a wide range of tweaks to the engine and other aspects of the game, and a full list can be seen by clicking on the button at the end of this article (the list is very long and filled with details).

Total War: Attila is also getting three new factions gamers can use

The Celtic Culture pack for Total War: Attila is designed to introduce the Picts, the Caledonians and the Ebdanians as playable factions, usable in the campaign but also in skirmishes against other humans or the computer.

The DLC is also adding an entirely new set of events for gamers to complete and there are unique abilities and new technologies.

The Creative Assembly has a long-term plan to add more content to Total War: Attila, although some members of the community have said that they would prefer to see a bigger focus on updates and balancing changes rather than on extra factions.
