Video game developer The Creative Assembly and publisher SEGA are announcing that the next downloadable content pack for Total War: Attila will allow gamers to play using three new Celtic factions, which are the Picts, the Caledonians and the Ebdanians.

Gamers who get the DLC will be able to use an entirely new roster of units, with each of the new nations offering a unique take on the ambush-focused tactics of the group, which will also be able to use a new guerrilla deployment.

Total War: Attila is also getting more prestige buildings, which ask the player to perform a great feat to gain access to them, and the Celts also have more development chains and technologies which enhance their abilities.

The Creative Assembly is also delivering new skill trees and a new event chain called Cycle of the Ollam Ri.

The Ebdanians have their origin between two river estuaries, the Buvinda and Oboca, approximately where the city of Dublin now lies, and they are well positioned to take advantage of the weakness of the Romans.

The Picts are in the North of Britannia and left no written records, but they are capable fighters who can overrun the rest of the island then attack the continent.

The Caledonians have a similar series of abilities and might even be ready to use more classic tactics than other Celtic tribes in combat.

Total War: Attila will probably also get a new patch

It's nice to see that the team at The Creative Assembly has already decided what kind of content it will offer in the second downloadable content pack for its strategy title, although no official launch date has been revealed yet.

The problem is that many members of the community are not satisfied with the fact that the studio seems to be focused more on extracting more money from fans than on talking about a new patch to fix the remaining issues with the title.

Total War: Attila is a much more solid title on launch than Rome 2 and it offers a relatively challenging set of campaigns, allowing gamers to control factions both migratory and settled as they try to deal with the fallout resulting from the decline of the Roman Empire.
