Toshiba announced an agreement with McAfee, Inc. to include McAfee SecurityCenter and McAfee VirusScan on the current libretto U105, libretto U100 and Tecra M4 models, and on future Toshiba notebook PCs offered by Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. Digital Products Division, including the Satellite, Qosmio, Tecra, Portege and libretto lines.

The enhanced McAfee VirusScan provides real-time protection against viruses, mass-mailing worms and Trojans as well as helps detect and remove potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) such as spyware, adware and dialers. Throughout the 30-day complimentary subscription period users will receive automatic updates and feature upgrades that will help protect them from the latest online threats.

In addition, Toshiba notebook PC customers will also have access to McAfee SecurityCenter, which allows users to easily manage McAfee consumer security software through a single console. McAfee SecurityCenter will provide Toshiba customers access to additional 30-day complimentary subscriptions of other award-winning McAfee security software including McAfee Personal Firewall Plus, McAfee Privacy Service and McAfee SpamKiller.

"It is Toshiba's mission to offer its notebook customers the most effective security choices available," said Taro Hiyama, vice president of marketing, Toshiba Digital Products Division, a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. "We selected McAfee based on their reputation, quality security offerings and innovative partner programs."
