Toshiba appears determined to make an impression now, at the start of the fourth quarter of 2010, having unleashed more than one device, in this case three Camileo camcorders.

Toshiba seems to have decided that just the splash caused by the Blu-ray DBR-M190 and its 5 TB HDD was not sufficient.

Basically, the company announced yet more consumer electronics, namely the Camileo X416, X400 and X200 camcorders.

The X200 and X400 are already available for order, priced at $229.99 and $279.99, respectively, while the X416 will arrive on October 10, 2011, and will ship for $319.99.

Going by today's exchange rates, this corresponds to 174.48, 212.41 and 242.76 Euro, respectively, though listings on that continent often don't even take this into account (many a product costs as many Euro as it does dollars, or very nearly).

So far, no mention was made of European pricing, so it is possible that the company hasn't decided when, if ever, it will actually send the trio there.

All three newcomers support Full HD video recording (1,920 x 1,080 pixels).

The Camileo X200 has 12x optical zoom, 60x digital zoom and can take 16 MP photos through its 8-megapixel sensor. It comes with an SD card slot and Electronic Image Stabilization as well, plus stereo mic.

The X400 has 23x optical zoom, 120x digital zoom, a Backside Illuminated CMOS sensor of 5 megapixels (16 MP photos) and an SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card slot, plus the other things X200 boasts.

As for the X416, is has a 16 GB SSD on top of the actual spec sheet that is the same as that of the X400.

“Toshiba recognizes consumers'' needs for camcorders that provide them with high quality at an affordable price and these three camcorders offer just that,” said Paul Collas, director of accessory marketing, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Digital Life Products and Services.

“The CAMILEO X416, X400 and X200 camcorders bring a variety of features and functionality for a range of prices to meet every consumer''s budget.”
