14 DAY TRIAL // Toshiba's TG01 Windows Mobile Professional smartphone has recently reached the UK market, exclusively via Orange. The new device comes to the market with the widest, high-definition touch-screen currently available, and has been added to Orange's lineup as one of the handsets that will offer the latest shifts in modern technology to its customers. The 4.1-inch WVGA screen boasts a great experience when it comes to watching TV and videos or looking at pictures in high-quality.
Francois Mahieu, director of devices, Orange UK, says that, “We believe the TG01 is a prime example of manufacturer innovation, and is a device that is at the very top of its game which will allow users to make the most from their mobile experience.” Bernard Labaume, VP Business Development & Trade Marketing, Toshiba Information Systems (UK) Ltd., Mobile Communications Division, adds that, “The TG01 is quite simply the next step in cutting edge mobile technology that will enable us to deliver mobile content for Orange customers at unprecedented levels of speed and quality.”
The Toshiba TG01 comes to the shelves with Qualcomm's Snapdragon platform, and its 1GHz processor is meant to fill the gap between mobile phones and netbooks, the two companies say. Both the multimedia experience it can deliver and the Internet browsing features it offers have been enhanced, enabling users to greatly benefit from their device. According to the duo, the TG01 comes as the first handset from Toshiba to be included in the carrier's successful Signature Series. At Orange, the handset is available for free upon the signing of a 2-year contract agreement for a minimum plan of £39.15 per month.
According to Orange, while the mobile phone has been already launched on its airwaves in France, it will soon become available in more European countries, including Switzerland, Romania and Poland. But there are no details on when that might happen, so users in those countries could have a while to wait from the powerful Toshiba TG01 to come to the Orange Shops near them, yet a series of hands-on images and some videos with the phone and its UI are already available, so one can take a closer look at it.
