It connects via Bluetooth to pretty much anything with a signal

Toshiba may not be known for its audio technologies and products, but the company is genuinely trying to gain some more ground in that field.

The newest sound product is a Bluetooth-connected speaker system which, rather than adopting the standard model of several satellites and a subwoofer, is shaped like a soundbar.

A subwoofer is still present though, connected wirelessly like the soundbar itself.

That said, two tweeters and four speakers are part of the soundbar, which measures 2.6 by 2.2 inches (91 x 56 mm).

The price is of $329.99, or 322 Euro, which might seem like a lot, even for a 300W audio system, until one realizes that people with multiple Bluetooth-enabled smartphones, tablets, PCs and media players probably have the money to spare.

"We've designed the Toshiba SBX4250 Soundbar to provide incredible audio performance, while maintaining ease of use even when wirelessly streaming audio from a mobile device," said Scott Ramirez, vice president of product marketing and development, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., digital products division.
