Toshiba sells its high-end tablets under the name Excite in the US, and most everywhere else, but the products ship as Regza in Japan, the company's home market.

The counterpart of the Excite Write is called Regza AT703 and uses a 10.1-inch screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels.

It ships with a stylus and relies on the NVIDIA Tegra 4 SoC, plus 2 GB of DDR3 RAM, and 32 GB of NAND Flash storage space.

The Android 4.2 tablet also gets Harman Kardon speakers, an 8 MP rear camera, and a battery that can last for up to 9.5 hours on a single charge, which is a lot.

Shipments should start in three days' time (June 21, 2013), for 89,800 JPY ($948 / €708). That's a lot but, fortunately, the Excite Write sells for $600 / €448 – 600, so people needn't panic.
