Prepares to challenge the Kindle Fire and Nook Tablet

The Kindle Fire and Nook Tablet will soon have to go ahead a new 7-inch challenger coming from Toshiba that will use the same form factor and entry-level price tag as these supped up eReaders.

Pictured in all of its black and blue glory in a couple of images provided by Notebook Italia, the yet unnamed tablet is slightly thinner than the Toshiba Thrive 7 and, in my opinion, a bit more stylish.

Despite the slimmer figure however, Toshiba hasn’t given up on adding microUSB, and microSD slots to its upcoming creation and these are also joined in the specs list by Bluetooth and Wireless LAN connectivity.

The 7-inch display has a resolution of 1024x600 pixels and rumors say that behind it stands a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC.

A rear camera, sans flash, rounds up the specs list, but so far we don’t know when this 7-incher will arrive of how much does Toshiba plans to ask for it.
