14 DAY TRIAL // After it introduced a variety of storage devices, multi-touch PCs, LTE-enabled mobile computers and storage units over the past couple of months, the hardware and PC supplier is once again turning its gaze towards the professional notebook market. The company has made the official announcement of its latest Satellite Pro model, known as the L510-EZ1410, which seeks to strike a good balance between higher level performance, portability and affordability.
Granted, most PCs aimed at the professional segment try to reach this balance, through a variety of means. In this case, Toshiba's new product forgoes advanced graphics capabilities in favor of a decent memory capacity and storage space, with all parts tightly packed inside a 14-inch frame.
The central processing unit used in the system's construction is the Intel Core 2 Duo T6570, which has a clock speed of 2.1Ghz. This CPU is supported by 3GB of memory. Furthermore, the storage capacity available is provided by an HDD with 250GB. Other specifications include a DVD drive, 10/100 Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, a memory card reader and a webcam.
The 14-inch, widescreen TruBrite LED-backlit display that the mobile PC uses has a maximum resolution of 1,366 x 768 and gets its video feed from the Intel GMA 4500HD integrated graphics. Finally, the laptop comes pre-loaded with the Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-bit operating system (or Windows XP if end-users wish it) and uses a six-cell battery that can keep it running for up to 4.06 hours.
