Not really cheap

Toshiba, one of the many netbook systems makers, has recently introduced a new, small-sized portable system that is built to deliver an impressive performance level in a considerably small package. Part of the company's Dynabook series of portable systems, the new notebook packs a hefty number of features, more than enough to make it a reliable competitor for all those netbooks currently available on the market from other companies.

The Dynabook NX notebook from Toshiba has been built with a 12.1-inch LED back lighted LCD screen that can output a maximum WXGA resolution of 1280 by 800. It features an Intel Core 2 Duo SU9300 processor running at 1.2GHz, and is equipped with up to 3GB of RAM memory, although it comes standardly featured with 2GB of RAM. As far as storage is concerned, this Dynabook can customized with either an SSD or a HDD, which will present users with a maximum of 128GB or 160GB of storage space, respectively.

There's also a DVD Super Multi Drive, wireless 802.11 b/g/n connectivity, three USB 2.0 ports, e-Sata port, and even an SD card reader. The notebook lacks a built-in webcam but, if it’s any consolation, it comes with an integrated fingerprint reader and a glossy casing that will be offered in either black of pink color styles. Given its overall design features, this product might as well end up as a favorite with most female users.

However, before you decide whether this is your notebook-to-be or not, be sure to check the price tag – as a fair warning, it can get to be quite expensive. There are no official details on pricing, but AkihabaraNews estimates the HDD version will become available for approximately €1,200, while the SSD one will be priced at €1,930. No word on availability either, but given the reported price tag, when it does hit store shelves, this Toshiba notebook could turn out to be one of the most expensive portable systems on the market.
