It seems that whatever was causing companies to keep silent about their further tablet plans is no longer an issue, as quite a few models have been spotted and priced not long ago, one of them belonging to Toshiba.

Users keeping tabs on the mobile IT market will no doubt know of how quickly the tablet segment is evolving.

In fact, during the past quarter alone, quite a number of new models, especially ones running the Android 3.0 operating system, have been revealed, though not actually made available (most of them anyway).

A short time ago, several models from ASUS, Acer, LG and Motorola, were priced more or less officially.

Now, it would seem that Toshiba's own upcoming 10.1-inch model has been detailed in full, courtesy of the people from Android Community.

Like so many of its rivals, it is based on the NVIDIA Tegra 2 ARM SoC (system-on-chip) and runs the aforementioned Android version (Honeycomb).

Also, it has two webcams, one of which is set on the front (2-megapixel, for video calls) and the other on the back (5-megapixel for video and photo capture).

What's more, the outfit made sure to include the HDMI port needed for streaming multimedia to auxiliary displays, plus an USB 2.0 connector.

Other features include an SD card reader, mini USB (supplements the full-sized one mentioned above), GPS, digital compass, accelerometer, WiFi, Bluetooth and a 3.5mm audio jack. No 3G is present.

As for the design, Toshiba went for interchangeable, rubberized back covers and made it easy for any user to swap the battery for a better one, should they so wish.

Some might remember that this particular Toshiba tablet was seen as far back as CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2011. Those that want a direct look need only drop by this listing.
