The result of Softbank and Toshiba joining forces has just been unveiled and it looks excellent. Toshiba 912T is a new handset, part of Softbank Mobile's summer lineup which has just hit the market.

This is just one of those devices which are highly unlikely to be seen hitting the worldwide market and that producers would just like to keep for themselves to enjoy. Its design fully shows this reality, as the mobile phone looks nothing like any of the devices that operators outside of Japan have gotten people used to.

Toshiba 912T comes with an extremely simple and smooth case which might fail to impress anyone. It looks like a regular handset that holds nothing special to offer. That's a deceiving impression, as the handset comes equipped with considerably high performances. At only 16.9 mm in thickness, the handset manages to bring services that especially those looking for a device for personal use will appreciate.

The 2.8-inch "Wide Clear Screen" is transflective for easy outdoor viewing even in bright light conditions. That proves to be excellent for watching the favorite programs on it, as the device also comes packed with a one-seg TV tuner. The upper side of the clamshell fully rotates in order to offer the best image viewing angle and an antenna manages to ensure high quality broadcast performances.

Toshiba 912T also packs a 3.2 megapixel camera meant to provide capture quality above average. The phone is also GPS-enabled, one feature that most evolved devices now manage to provide for their users. Moreover, connectivity is available through Bluetooth and HSDPA, which ensures data transfer speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps.

Toshiba 912T will be available from now on in Japan in seven different colors that allow its user to easily customize and match it with his own personality. No price details have been revealed until now.
