Toshiba, the giant Japanese manufacturer of electronic devices and consumer products, has recently unveiled a new mobile phone that will surely make the delight of dreamers from across Japan. Named Toshiba 824T, the  handset is a clamshell that comes in two hues of pink (Pastel Pink, Vivid Pink), Pastel Blue and Pastel Purple – colors chosen by Tamio Suenaga, who is presented as a “renowned color psychologist” from Japan.

The Pastel Pink and Pastel Blue versions of 824T can subtly change the color of their front case, depending on the angle you're looking at them. Moreover, all versions of the phone come with “therapeutic music” pre-installed.

Colors and music aside, the 824T offers a set of pretty nice features, although they only make the handset a mid-end one: a 2.8 inch TFT display with 240 x 320 pixels, One Seg capabilities for mobile TV viewing, 3G connectivity, GPS, Bluetooth and IrDA, bar code reader, Graphic Mail, Web browser, quick access to news, Music and Video players, E-comics, a 2 Megapixel camera with video recording, 59MB of internal memory and microSD card support.

The new flip phone further offers an alphanumeric keypad with “large frameless keys”, allowing even women with long nails to use it without any problem.

Toshiba 824T weighs 112 grams and, when closed, it measures 103 x 50 x 17.8 millimeters. The phone's battery is said to be capable of lasting up to 3 hours in talk-time mode or up to 440 hours in stand-by mode.

The new and dreamy Toshiba handset should be available in Japan as of today, September 6. Its price is not known for the moment, but we do know that the manufacturer is selling the 824T via SoftBank, the third largest Japanese mobile operator (and the only one to offer Apple's iPhone 3G for users in Japan).
