Back at CES 2014 in Las Vegas, Toshiba took the opportunity to pull the veil off a bunch of new laptops. And one of them in particular proved to be the company’s ace up its sleeve.

We’re talking about the Toshiba Satellite P50t, a laptop that boasts 4K Ultra-HD resolution mounted on a 15.6-inch screen. Back then, Toshiba said that the Satellite was the world’s first 4K laptop and it might as well be true, even if since then, other companies, like ASUS, have been tipped to be working on similar models.

At CES, Toshiba left a lot of the details regarding the laptop out. Well, the company is now willing to provide us with more information about the specifications, but continues to exclude the most important part, the pricing.

Anyway, forget about that for a second and let’s see what the laptop offers. The Satellite 50t model features a pretty sleek frame, weighing just 4.8 lbs / 2.2 kg (via Engaged).

It comes equipped with an impressive 3,840 x 2,160 pixel resolution and 282ppi mounted on a 15.6-inch display (with ChromaTune calibration).

Under the hood, we have an Intel Core-i7 CPU combined with 16GB of RAM doing the heavy lifting. The laptop is also fitted with 2GB AMD Radeon R9 M265 graphics and hopefully with a 1TB mechanical disk option (details about it will be confirmed later on).

Furthermore, in the port department, the lappy offers 4 USB 3.0 ports, an SD/SDHC slot, Bluetooth 4.0 and 802.11ac Wi-Fi. The laptop runs to Windows 8 and will be made available somewhere in Q2.

Moving on, Toshiba has also introduced more laptop models, the less impressive Toshiba S50 (15.6-inch and 4.5 lbs / 2.04 kg) and Toshiba S70 (17-inch with 5.9 lbs / 2.67 kg).

The two laptops don’t offer the same amazing 4K resolution, so customers will be left with a choice between 720p, 900p and 1080p display with optional touch functionality. The models bundle either Intel HD or AMD Radeon R9 discreet graphics.

Moving on, there’s the Satellite C50 / C70 and L50 / L70 models that offer up to 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. The C50 (15.6-inch) packs 1366 x 768 pixels, while the C70 (17-inch) has 1600 x 900. Toshiba offers a wide array for configuration options and customers can get up to an Intel Core-i7, 16GB of RAM and 1TB hybrid SSD and Blue-ray drives.

It’s worth mentioning that the Satellite L50 bundles the new Skull Candy certified sound. At this moment, we have no info on how much these laptops are going to cost, but we’ll update when that info shows up.
