Toshiba's Regza line of LCD HDTVs has proved to be quite successful around the world, not only due to the quality of the cinematographic experience the LCD displays can provide, but also due to their very thin and sleek form factor. And this is the reason why the company has just announced at CEDIA 2007 two new such models, dubbed Regza Super Narrow Bezel (SNB), which are less than 1 inch (2.54 cm) wide and will be available in 40-inch and 46-inch versions.

Each of the two new 1080p Full HD Super Narrow Bezel models will feature new 10 Bit LCD Panels with 64 times the colors of an 8 Bit Panel, and, to further enhance picture quality, these models also feature xvYCC signal support to accept 1.8x more colors than standard HD signals. Moreover, they feature the most advanced display technology the Japanese company has to offer, namely Toshiba's PixelPure 3G 14 Bit internal Digital Video Processing with 4,096 levels of gradation, DynaLight dynamic backlight for deeper blacks and ColorBurst wide color gamut CCFL for enhanced color rendition.

Beside the advanced display technologies, the new Regzas also provide quite a high quality sound, with the help of the SoundStrip2 speaker system, which eliminates any cabinetry below the thin strip of speaker, while maintaining rich home theater sound. Moreover, they come packed with a full range of connectivity options, including here 3 HDMI digital inputs, all with CE-Link HDMI-CEC control for optimum ease-of-use, as well as a PC input capable of high-resolution WXGA and SXGA display.

"Our new REGZA LCD line has already been a huge success," said Scott Ramirez, Vice President of Marketing. "We have set new standards in picture quality with our PixelPure 14-bit internal processing, and we will now set a new standard in design with the world's thinnest LCD TV bezel. These premium models are not only strikingly beautiful; they also allow you to put a larger TV in a smaller space. In fact, our new 40-inch SNB model fits in the space of a standard Toshiba 37-inch, which means that many consumers can now fit a 40-inch model into their existing home theater furniture."

The two new super-slim Regzas will be available at retailers starting September 2007, but they won't come cheap, as the 40-inch model has a MSRP of around 1,900 US dollars, while the 46 inches will retail for a suggested 2,500 US dollars.
