14 DAY TRIAL // Although they are fan favorites and definitely known among the television community, it seems that their celebrity alone could not save them from being axed from the popular television show known as MythBusters. Tory Belleci, Kari Byron and Grant Imahara have all been fired from the series.
Yesterday’s episode made the shocking announcement, that effectively cuts the cast of the show in half, leaving only its original members, Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage. Right after the show aired, one of the sacked members, Kari Byron, took to Twitter to talk on the matter.
“I guess you guys are finding out the news right about now. After a decade of the MythBusters, we are no longer with the show,” Kari began, “Thank you to all the fans who have supported us. The show is taking a new direction. It was an amazing run. I learned so much about myself and the world. I love you all @MythBusters. I am sad for an ending but there will be exciting new adventures for us,” she concluded.
As it turns out, there are no hard feelings between the presenters and the network, as both sides speak highly of each other. The MythBusters Twitter account had only kind words, “We want to thank @KariByron @GrantImahara @ToryBelleci for their tireless work, and wish them all the best.”
Right now, it’s too soon to know in which new direction the show was heading, but what is sure is that both Savage and Hyneman are going to make their comeback for the 2015 season of MythBusters. Fans have called this the end of an era.
