14 DAY TRIAL // When one of Dean McDermott’s most recent flings went to the press to talk about their 2-day torrid affair, Tori Spelling, Dean’s wife for the past 7 years, still hoped that it was all just lies. Still, for her peace of mind, she hired a private investigator to keep an eye on Dean.
What the P.I. found out shattered all her hopes and, at the same time, whatever notion she had of her husband, the latest print issue of Star magazine writes (story via CB). Turns out, Tori never really knew Dean.
Even though he’s checked himself into rehab, saying in a statement he was doing it because he wanted to save his marriage to Tori and continue to live with her and their 4 kids, the tabloid claims that the former “Beverly Hills 90210” actress is set on getting a divorce.
That’s because she found out that the P.I. had proof that Dean had cheated on her with both women and men even after he was shamed publicly in the aforementioned interview on the affair. As if that weren’t horrible enough, he’s also been spending her money (her savings, no less) without telling her.
“Tori is absolutely shell-shocked. She’s in so much pain. Now, she’s terrified that the loving marriage she thought she shared with Dean was built on lies and deception. She doesn’t know where to turn,” a family friend says for the publication.
Thinking about what Dean has been doing for years, Tori doesn’t know what shocks her the most: that he was cheating on her, that he was cheating on her with both men and women, or that he was stealing from her.
She does know though that she wants out: as far as Tori is concerned, there’s no saving the marriage anymore.
“She’s finally considering [divorce],” the insider says. “Her whole world is crumbling. She’s suffering. Tori never thought that Dean would turn out to be a cheating, thieving husband.”
“She’s terrified that he’s been doing it for years. It looks like he’s been using the money to party with his low-life friends. He’s nowhere near the man she raved about on her reality shows. She’s afraid Dean will swindle what’s left of her money,” adds the insider.
It is also said that Dean and Tori never signed a prenup because she refused to have one drawn up thinking they would be together for life. Now that she’s facing the reality of a possible divorce, Tori is horrified to think she might have to split in half whatever’s left of her savings.
