3G services launched in several areas from the globe are starting to be regarded as normal and not anymore as deluxe, and already users are starting to claim there is room for more.

Using the MOBILE LIFE 1 report published by Impaq Group, there have been established the top ten preferences of 3G users. We now know that they want to take maximum advantage of data transmissions over the 3G networks and new services to solve different problems using only the cell phone.

Impaq Group is one of the most important European companies which studies and develops applications oriented towards the end-user, and the purpose of this study was to outline the potential domains which can be correlated with the 3G services. Considering that this phone is like an extension of the user, it's logical to use it for solving a large number of problems.

According to the study, it turns out users will continue to emphasize voice transmissions and SMS messages, and current phone functions will be replaced by more complex and more useful ones. Currently, the most used functions are calling, SMS sending, switching to silent mode, using the calculator, taking photos, browsing sites through WAP, using the operators' portals, mobile searches and Bluetooth connectivity.
