Asus announced the launch of a new mainboard for computer systems built around an Intel central processing unit, which is aimed at power users as well as small offices and similar enterprises. The Asus P5NT WS mainboard is centered on the ultimate Intel compatible chipset available on the market today, the Nvidia built nForce 680i LT SLI that offers support for the latest Intel dual or quad core processors based on the LGA 775 socket.

Since the new Asus P5NT WS mainboard was designed as a top of the line solution, it implements the latest available technologies, including the PCI-X structure design that is a newer and faster version of the conventional and traditional PCI standard which maintains a full software and hardware backward compatibility with the previous generations of PCI. As the new standard offers an increased data transferring bandwidth, the mainboard will easily keep pace with the most demanding applications.

As this motherboard is based on the Nvidia nForce 680i LT SLI chipset and is compatible with the latest Intel processors, it supports a differential clock speed frontside bus, which is adjusted according to the present processing unit. The high versatility of the integrated Nvidia chipset allows this motherboard to feature a frontside bus capable of speeds between 533 and 1333MHz, while supporting DDR2 random access memories that run at speeds between 533 and 800MHz.

On the expansion slots department, the Asus P5NT WS mainboard comes equipped with three PCI Express x16 slots that support Nvidia SLI technology, one PCI-X and one traditional PCI slots as well as other two PCI Express x1 slots for the latest add-on cards. As this Asus product is fully certified by Nvidia in the use of Quadro professional graphics solutions, computer systems built around this mainboard and incorporating one or more Quadro graphics cards will provide digital content creators with a stable and performant platform.

In order to keep the noise to a minimum while providing an efficient cooling of the mainboard, Asus employed a cooling solution made of copper heat pipes that diverts all heat from the chipset and the power conversion circuits to the rear side of the board where it can be dissipated safely thanks to the increased airflow produced by the CPU cooler. For more stable operating conditions and higher performance output, Asus equipped this mainboard with an innovative technology that reduces the input ripple current and ripple output voltages. This has a direct effect on the overclocking capabilities of the mainboard, as this technology stabilizes output current and voltages under heavy workloads and higher than standard speeds.

The presence of the Asus AI Clock Skew technology allows users to safely overclock the memory modules and it assures a stable operation environment even when the memory modules are running at higher frequencies.
