Steam for Linux will enter open Beta next week and gamers from all over the world will want to play. The users will have to know if they meet the necessary hardware requirements for some of the most demanding games available on Steam for Linux.

The Steam users from other platforms have gotten used to receiving the necessary hardware requirements for all the games they acquire. This feature has also become available on Steam for Linux.

The most demanding game so far seems to be Serious Sam 3: BFE. This is a first-person shooter developed by Croteam and it’s actually a sequel for the other titles in the series.

Minimum Requirements:

OS: Linux Ubuntu 12.04 Processor: Dual-core from Intel or AMD at 2.8 GHz Memory: 2GB Graphics: nVidia GeForce 8600/9600GT, ATI/AMD Radeon HD2600/3600 (Graphic drivers: nVidia 310, AMD 12.11) OpenGL: 2.1 Hard Drive: 4GB free hard drive space Sound: OpenAL Compatible Sound Card

Recommended Requirements:

OS: Linux Ubuntu 12.04 Processor: Quad-core from Intel (i5-series) or AMD (Phenom II) at 3.0 GHz Memory: 4GB Graphics: nVidia GeForce 280/460 GTX, ATI/AMD Radeon HD 4870/5770 (Graphic drivers: nVidia 310, AMD 12.11) OpenGL: 2.1 Hard Drive: 4GB free hard drive space Sound: OpenAL Compatible Sound Card

Amnesia: The Dark Descent is considered one of the scariest games ever developed and that feeling is helped by a decent engine. It does come with a small hardware price, but most people will find it reasonable.

System Requirements:

OS: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, Mint 13 LTS, Fedora 16, fully updated Processor: 2.0Ghz - Low budget CPUs such as Celeron or Duron needs to be at about twice the CPU speed. Memory: 2 GB Graphics: Radeon X1000/GeForce 6 - Integrated graphics and low budget cards might not work. Hard Drive: 3 GB

The last game we want to mention is beautiful point and click adventure that will surely raise an eyebrow, The Book of Unwritten Tales: The Critter Chronicles.
