If it’s spring, let it be flowery and unconventional, stylists say

They say a woman never feels as beautiful and good about herself as she does on her wedding day. Since this is (admittedly) a once-in-a-lifetime thing, it’s only natural that we did our best to look as fabulous as possible on this special occasion. For the spring of 2009, designers and stylists propose a little unconventionality in terms of a bridal gown, as the girls from AllWomenStalk report.

The first trend in terms of bridal gowns is flowers, as we have already noticed on all items for the upcoming season. Carolina Herrera and Vera Wang have already gone for the big flowery accents in their runaway collections, and, at the same time, have set the tone for this trend.

Thus, no matter the type of flower we choose for our gown, it must abide by one law and one law only: it has to be big. Whereas Wang, for instance, has opted for oversized flowers on the chest or shoulders, Herrera’s creations include dresses where the lower half is made either entirely of one single flower or a cluster of more. Should flowers not work for you, then perhaps ruffles will. They will hint at playfulness and youth, while also keeping the gown extremely delicate and beautiful.

However, if flowers or ruffles are a bit too soapy for us, we can always choose the one-shoulder look, yet another hot trend this spring. This is one thing that will never cease to call to mind utmost elegance and timeless class. A heavy, extremely long and large bridal gown will get a plus of stylishness if it bears one shoulder. This will also emphasize the waist and chest area, so as to compensate for the fact that the lower part hardly reveals anything about the bride’s figure.

The black-and-white gown also speaks of elegance and style. It also sends a message of unconventionality, while playing by the same rules that have been standing for the past couple hundred years. Black-and-white bride gowns are ideal for a black-tie formal wedding, stylists say, but also fare extremely well at traditional receptions that are meant to go beyond boundaries. There is nothing better for a bride, stylists share, than for her to bend limits a bit and still look breathtakingly gorgeous at the same time.

One last trend that marks this spring as regards bridal gowns is the return of the short, white dress. If, in the days of yore, wearing a short bridal dress was considered the tackiest thing ever (with some exceptions), designers and stylists are now telling us that short is the way to go, especially if we also happen to be the proud owners of a pair of long, fine legs. From bubbly bottoms to classic cuts and frills, short bridal gowns are also a sure win in the spring of 2009.
