14 DAY TRIAL // ThreatMetrix, a provider of integrated cybercrime prevention solutions, has analyzed the almost one billion transactions performed by US merchants, with the purpose of making a top that highlights online fraud origination in the first quarter of 2012.
After analyzing the transactions and scoring them with a fraud risk level of low, medium or high, the experts were able to determine that New York is the most risky place to do online transactions.
“New York was ranked No. 1 in e-commerce fraud risk with transactions 1.5 times as likely to be at risk in comparison to second ranked Atlanta, and twice as likely in comparison to No. 3 Chicago,” revealed Alisdair Faulkner, chief products officer, ThreatMetrix.
While ThreatMetrix made a list of 150 cities from the US, bellow you can see the top 10 cities for fraud origination:
