After a long development saga, Too Human is finally almost ready for launch. The final release date for the game has been set but considering the history of the game, that at one point looked as vaporware as Duke Nukem Forever, we'll settle for a 2008 release. And there's also news of a demo being put together for the game.

Denis Dyack from Silicon Knights has told Eurogamer that he plans on getting the demo out before the launch of the game, so that potential players might get a taste of what Too Human has to offer and then rush to the store for the full experience. As the game is set for a North American release on August 19 and for a European release on August 29, it's rather safe to say that the demo should be coming out around the beginning of August on Xbox Live, the content delivery system for Microsoft's gaming console.

Dyack thinks that the demo should consist of the first demo of the game and not more. Pushing too much content into the demo might take too much time and resources that, at this point, could be used to apply the finishing touches to the game. But a demo will be crucial for the players so that they can understand how the cross between action game and role playing works in Too Human.

Not long ago, a study group produced several data regarding the impact that demos for games can have on their sales. The research found that releasing a demo before the game is hardly a good idea, as previews and screenshots are more likely to guide the decision of a gamer towards buying or not buying a particular game. Demos are best released a few weeks after the game launch, when can bring about a boost of publicity to the title, and help players that are on the fence about buying make up their minds.
