The rocker cannot stand the fact that horses are often injured during such competitions

Bad-boy look aside, it appears that Tommy Lee has a soft spot for animals. Hence his asking that Canada put its chuckwagon racing days behind it.

For those unaware, such races come down to making horses pull wagons while running at stunning speeds.

Needless to say, accidents happen quite often and many horses have thus far gotten injured or even killed while taking part in such competitions.

Although ongoing rules and regulations aim at making these races a tad more horse-friendly, both Tommy Lee and PETA believe that competitions of this sort should be banned altogether.

In an attempt to put an end to chuckwagon races once and for all, Tommy Lee is to appeal to Alison Ford, the premier of Alberta.

“Tommy invited her to the Mötley Crüe concert so that she could experience a ‘really wild show’ that doesn't involve injuring and killing animals. He hopes to convince the premier to use her influence to put a stop to the deadly chuckwagon races at the annual Calgary Stampede,” PETA writes on its official website.

Here's hoping Tommy's endeavor will turn out to be a successful one.
