You're going to have to wait for Lara

Action adventure games are very popular these days, as more and more developers want to bring something new to the whole genre. But although other companies want to push the envelope, Eidos is sticking with the tried-and-true method to its famous Tomb Raider series. The lovely Lara Croft embarked on her latest adventure before the last year’s holiday season, as the company launched Tomb Raider: Underworld, a gritty, more realistic take on the series.

While Eidos hyped it up as much as possible, the sales of the title weren't exactly what the company executives expected, as Lara didn't get the same fan response as with other iterations in the series. But despite this, the company continued to support the title through various downloadable costumes for the lovely explorer and has even announced two Xbox 360 exclusive DLC episodes, which will continue the adventures of the game.

Although it was slated to appear soon, the first episode, entitled Tomb Raider: Beneath The Ashes, has now been postponed, as the development team encountered some unexpected difficulties and needs to work more on these new adventures for Lara. The Eidos press release didn't make any mention as to when the DLC would appear so it seems that the problems were quite severe.

“An unexpected technical issue means that Beneath the Ashes will not be available to download on 10th February as planned,” reads the press release. “We apologize for this delay and we are doing everything we can to bring you this exciting new content for Tomb Raider: Underworld as soon as possible.”

Tomb Raider: Beneath The Ashes promised to offer Lara a new set of caverns and caves for her to explore right beneath the Croft Manor, the place where she grew up. Hopefully we'll see her explore these new environments as soon as possible.
