Tom Hardy is top contender for Daniel Craig’s replacement as James Bond, allegedly

Some time ago, Tom Hardy said he’d love to play James Bond with Chris Nolan as director and, for those of you who thought it’d be a great idea, here’s some good news: he’s in talks to take over the 007 role from Daniel Craig.

Be still, my heart.

Officially, Craig has already signed on for 2 more Bond films but, a tipster says for EntertainmentWise, “the search for his replacement is already on.”

Sony and MGM are planning ahead and, it would seem, they consider Hardy would be perfect as the suave 007 when Daniel’s contract is up – which, by that time, would also make him too old for the role, whereas Tom would be the right age.

“Tom is right at the top of the wish list. He’s been approached to gauge his interest and he’s keen,” the insider says.

“He’s a respected actor with a great back catalogue of films but most importantly he’s the type of guy that all men want to be like and all women want to be with. He’s perfect Bond material,” adds the source.

While I’m sure talks are being held to see who could take over from Craig when the time comes, and while I have no doubt Hardy could pull off a very convincing James Bond, we’re talking about something that will happen 4 or 5 years from now.

In other words, this is probably just a rumor.
