14 DAY TRIAL // “Inception” star Tom Hardy is known not only for his plump lips and buff body, but also for his love of tattoos – aside from his amazing ability of becoming whatever character he’s playing. He recently got some new ink on his chest.
Tom is now in Canada, shooting on a new action movie called “This Means War” with Reese Witherspoon and “Star Trek” star Chris Pine.
In between takes, he spent some me-time by getting a new tattoo: a Union Jack piece on his chest, as JustJared can confirm. Minutes after the tattoo was done, pictures of Tom getting it were online.
“A shirtless Tom Hardy shows off his fresh new ink at Darkday Tattoo Studios in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada,” the e-zine says.
“The 33-year-old actor recently added a Union Jack tattoo on his upper left chest when he popped into the shop, one of his favorite local hangouts while he’s been filming This Means War,” JustJared further notes.
In a recent interview, Hardy admitted to being a fan of body art, saying each tattoo meant something special to him – he would never get one just out of boredom, there was always a deeper meaning to each new one.
“Every tattoo I have means something to me. Each one is something that I’ve been through in my life or I’ve done or I’ve been,” Tom recently revealed.
According to the aforementioned celebrity gossip website, he’s not lying: some of his tats are in honor of the birth of his son, whom he credits with saving his life (Hardy struggled with severe drug and alcohol addiction), and of his fiancée Charlotte Riley.
“Tom shared the significance behind some of his other tattoos – A star when he found out his then-girlfriend was pregnant with his 2 1/2-year-old son, the phrases ‘Figlio mio bellisimo’ (‘my beautiful son’) and ‘Padre fiero’ (‘proud father’), and the name of his agent (he promised her he would get it if she got him into Hollywood),” JustJared reads.
And this one actor isn’t going to stop here: he also has plans to get a “large angel-themed portrait” on his back starting from a photo he took of Charlotte.
