Did you know that Tom Hanks is still working on that “Da Vinci Code” sequel? The Hollywood actor has just been confirmed to be starting work on the third movie in the franchise based on the Dan Brown novels and to reprise his role as Professor Robert Langdon.

Deadline reports that the movie project is expected to begin shooting in Italy in April 2015. Hanks also appeared in the first two movies in the series, “The Da Vinci Code” and its sequel “Angels & Demons.” Sadly, apart from the first movie, the franchise didn't attract so much attention.

The film is going to be directed by Ron Howard, the man responsible for directing the first two. The screenplay is penned by David Koepp, who also worked on “Angels & Demons,” so as you can see, the studio isn't taking any chances on this project.

The release date for this new movie has been set for December 18, 2015, so it would seem that they don't plan to hold it on ice for very long. “Inferno” is said to be based on the fourth book in the Dan Brown series, skipping over “The Lost Symbol,” the third book, which has probably been deemed unworthy to be turned into a movie.
