However, even if they’ve been separated for so many months, he has not lost hope yet that they might be a happy family once more.
At least, that’s what unnamed insiders are saying for the latest print issue of the National Enquirer, the Daily Mail reports. Considering the source of this rumor, it’s safe to say it would be best taken with a grain of salt. You know, just in case.
According to sources close to the Hollywood actor, he’s never stopped loving Katie even if she chose to “flee” from the marriage. Celebrity gossip lovers perhaps remember that this is what she actually did: she reportedly planned her “escape” down to the smallest detail, used burners to talk to an attorney and then left town, before Tom was served with the papers.
Any other man would probably still be harboring some resentment over this, but not Tom.
“Tom wants Katie and their old life together back. There's no other woman in his life, and he wants the three of them to be a family again, especially with the holidays around the corner,” an insider reveals.
It might seem like this isn’t the case, but Tom and Katie are still in contact a lot because they have to do a lot of planning and arranging because of Suri, their daughter whose physical custody Katie has.
“Tom is in constant contact with Katie about Suri via phone and email, and he's realized that he wants Katie back. He's done a lot of thinking lately and came to the conclusion that he's still as close to Katie as anyone else in his life,” explains the insider.
The tab’s spies even claim that Tom and Katie slept together last year, when they met to talk about holiday plans for Suri. They will probably repeat the experience soon, the tab hints.
“If Scientology weren't a factor, Tom and Katie probably would have reunited by now. As it stands there has definitely been a thawing of their icy relationship. But if Katie does decide to take him back, it will have to be on her own terms,” another tipster says.
