“New Moon” cleaned up the awards at this year’s edition of the MTV Movie Awards, including in major categories like Best Movie, Best Female Performance and, last but not least, Best Kiss. However, some say, the real winner was Les Grossman, the producer of the ceremony, the fat and balding Hollywood manager that the world first met in Ben Stiller’s 2008 film “Tropic Thunder.”

Those who saw Grossman’s interventions in the awards ceremony as the highlights of the evening should be happy to learn that Tom Cruise, who plays the character, is not ruling out the possibility of coming out with a film about him, AceShowbiz says. When asked about whether he’d ever give the idea a thought, the actor did not go into specifics, but he did give an answer in the positive. At times, this is more than enough to get a project like this off the ground, it is being said.

“At the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, Tom Cruise appeared as Les Grossman and joined Jennifer Lopez on the stage. Probably inspired by the success of the stunt, the actor has planned to make a movie based on the said character as he told E! Online backstage, ‘We’re working on it. Yup, we’re working on it.’ Though it is not known whether or not Cruise was joking about making a new project focusing on the ‘Tropic Thunder’ character, his appearance at the June 6 ceremony got warm reception. The ‘Mission Impossible’ star additionally reprised his role of Grossman in a skit which opened the show and several promo videos for the same event,” AceShowbiz writes.

Speaking with People magazine after the awards, Tom Cruise, who first put on the fat, hairy and balding suit to play the foul-mouthed, spitting and business-savvy manager for a brief appearance in the aforementioned film, also revealed reprising the part was terribly fun. Getting up on the same stage with Jennifer Lopez and dancing with her was a bit hard, in that it required a few hours sweating in rehearsals, but well worth it in the end, the actor explained.

“It was a lot of fun – it was a blast! You know, I can dance a bit, and we rehearsed. And my wife’s a dancer, so I like dancing!” Cruise told People. For the JLo segment, he got So You Think You Can Dance choreographer Tyce Diorio to help him out. Even more important than the public’s approval was that of wife Katie Holmes, it would seem. “She loved it. She was there [in rehearsal] while we were working on it,” Tom added.
