An Ubisoft list of PAL release dates reveals that cancelling rumors were dead wrong

To put it short and simple so no fan is ever disappointed again, Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 is indeed heading towards the PlayStation 3 in Q1 2008. It was confirmed in the latest list of PAL release dates recently distributed by Ubisoft, bringing it close to its Xbox 360 and PC release. Good news for PS3 fans, as rumors of Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 being delayed or even cancelled have been circulating the web for quite some time.

The news comes courtesy of Gamefront.de (via gamer.tm), a German site on which the latest list of PAL release dates distributed by the French publisher was posted. Now that the highly-anticipated team-based first-person shooter has been solidly dated for its PS3 release, you can let rumors of the game being delayed or cancelled go.

The highly anticipated sequel to the winner of numerous awards, including IGN's 2006 Best First Person Shooter and Best Online Game, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is said to push the franchise to new heights. It will deliver improvements for both gameplay and visuals, while players will be dealing with an intense solo campaign that uses new tactical possibilities in various locations around Sin City. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 will also be featuring some groundbreaking co-op and adversarial online game modes, while solo and multiplayer modes will feature unprecedented interaction.

Breaking it down for every hardcore gamer looking to pick up on the tremendously popular series just now, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 is a tactical/team-based first-person shooter (FPS), and the sequel to Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas, developed by the same French studio, Ubisoft Montreal, and published by Ubisoft.

Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 was announced on November 20, 2007, being scheduled for a March 2008 release, to coincide with the Rainbow Six franchise's10th anniversary. A first look at the game will be featured in the January issue of the Official Xbox Magazine. It will be available in mid December, this year.
