Tokina announced back in November that there would be an AT-X 11-16mm f/2.8 DX-II lens for Sony A-mount starting January this year. Until now, the lens has only been available for Canon EF and Nikon F mounts.

If you own any Sony A-mount digital SLR and want to purchase this lens, you should know that the A-mount Tokina AT-X 11-16mm f/2.8 DX-II optic is now in stock at BHphoto and can be yours for $535 / €395.

In the case of Canon and Nikon mount versions, the lens didn't quite match the performance of its predecessor when it comes to overall sharpness and it will be interesting to see how it performs on Sony's A-mount DSLRs.

Tokina AT-X 11-16mm f/2.8 DX-II comes with a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture throughout the entire focal range and features a complex construction with 13 elements in 11 groups, including two Super-Low Dispersion and two aspheric glass elements designed to minimize chromatic aberrations and improve overall contrast and sharpness.
