Blogger gets new update

Google's blogging technology Blogger introduced 'Play', a special function which enables any Internet user to view the photos uploaded by other bloggers as a slideshow. The best thing is that 'Play' provides this amazing presentation in real time so you'll be able to view a picture just after the uploader posts it on his blog. Moreover, you can click on an image in order to visit the blog and read the article. If you currently own a Blogger account and you don't want to have your pictures posted in 'Play', you must remove your blog from the Google listings because this new feature takes photos only from the public pages. In order to do that, you must click on Settings / Basic and choose 'No' for the 'Add your Blog to our listings?' option.

Obviously, because Play works with the photos uploaded by the users, some of the visitors might be afraid of inappropriate content such as adult or pornographic content. Well, according to Google, there's no reason to be afraid of these photos because the product is based on the 'SafeSearch' technology which filters the entire content displayed on Google Search.

"We are doing our absolute best to ensure that Blogger Play does not display inappropriate images. Blogger Play uses Google SafeSearch algorithms to filter out adult images; however, it is still possible that you may be exposed to such images while watching Blogger Play. If this happens, you can record the URL of the blog where the image appeared by pausing Blogger Play and clicking "show post info" in the bottom-right corner of your screen," the Mountain View company mentioned in the product's FAQ.

In order to use Google Play for a long time (an hour or so), you're encouraged to use Firefox 2, Safari 3 beta or Internet Explorer 7 because older versions of this browser might encounter some difficulties when trying to handle larger amounts of photos.
