Yesterday we talked about HP unveiling a motion control enabled notebook, which looked pretty futuristic. Apparently another company called Tobii is ready to take things even farther, and rolled out a system called EyeMobile, which allows you to control a Windows 8 tablet only with your eyes. This might sound unbelievable at first, but Tobii claims that user will be able to perform full operations on the tablet without having to lay a finger of them.

Slates such as the Dell Latitude 10 can be paired up with the EyeMobile system. Tobii hopes to implement such devices especially for patients who have lost controls of their limbs due to certain conditions and can't perform basic actions.

Tobii has demonstrated the capabilities of the EyeMobile tablet to DigitalTrends and they seem to be pretty impressed. The system positions two infrared cameras beneath the tablet with the help of a bracket, in order to track the movement of the users' eyes.

Once the EyeMobile is mounted on the tablet, users will be able to use the dedicated Tobii Windows 8 application which always runs in the background.

However learning how to use your eyes within an operating system that has been designed with a touch experience in mind, isn't the easiest thing to do and might take some time.

Once users have practiced enough concentration, they can open recent apps by glancing at the menu icon placed on the right and then moving their gaze to the left side of the screen.

If you think you wouldn't be able to type with your eyes, the EyeMobile system will prove you wrong. With enough practice, users will be able to maintain a steady gaze on the Keyboard icon to bring up the Tobii designated keyboard. The typing process begins by looking at certain keys.

The EyeMobile system is not a cheap one, as Tobii is selling it for $4,250 / €3,140, so if they idea of controlling your tablet with your eyes seems appealing enough for you, start saving up!

EyeMobile can currently be ordered via the company's official website.
