Developer Respawn Entertainment has revealed more screenshots from the upcoming Titanfall: Frontier's Edge DLC pack.

The new images show off the immense scale of the new map Dig Site, where the gigantic industrial platforms and huge monolithic structures completely dwarf the Titans and pilots.

"Mining operations are on hold while the Militia defend this crucial asset against IMC attacks. Surrounded by sheer rock walls that offer natural protection against air assault, the site becomes a bloody ground war characterized by titan skirmishes over subtle elevation changes in the terrain, and a mix of short and medium-range engagements for pilots," reads the official map description from Respawn.

The screens show some pilots and Titans duking it out in what looks more like a still from a tabletop miniature wargame or anthill showdown more than the fast-paced, parkour-infused action that Titanfall delivered so far.

The Frontier's Edge DLC pack is the second since the first-person shooter's release in March of this year, and will offer players three new maps to test their skills on. In addition to the isolated outpost shown in the Dig Site, gamers will also travel to a luxury beach resort titled Haven, as well as to Export, a mining hub situated atop a major mountain range.

For the time being, the studio has refrained from revealing a prospective launch date for the new content pack, but it will most likely land sometime at the end of this summer, in order to avoid competition from the big launches scheduled for this autumn.

The company is showing that it intends to make good on the promise that it will continue support for Titanfall, the latest major patch having just been released last month, introducing various tweaks, as well as some revisions to the Burn Card mechanics and a brand new game mode, Marked for Death.

Titanfall is available for the PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One platforms, and is considered one of Microsoft's next-gen computer entertainment system' primary movers.

The action in the game is set in a distant, war-torn future, on the outskirts of the known universe, following the conflict between the Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation and the Militia.

Titanfall introduces a lot of variety to the age-old military shooter formula, complete with novel ways to navigate the maps, with an emphasis on verticality, through parkour-style wall-running and double jumps. Another big plus is the ability to seamlessly switch from back and forth between regular gameplay as a pilot and controlling a massive hunk of metal, affording an increased depth of tactical decisions.
