Vince Zampella, the chief executive officer and founder of Respawn Entertainment, is confirming that his company is at the moment working on Titanfall 2, which is set to be launched on the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One and the PC at some point in the future.

The information comes from IGN United Kingdom and it seems that the final name for the coming experience has not yet been decided.

Vince Zampella is quoted as saying that "I guess EA announced a sequel, so I could play coy and pretend I don't know anything about it, or… yeah. So we're working on a sequel. No official name yet, but we're working on that. That's the main focus but we're starting up a second team and doing some smaller stuff too. Small, exploratory, taking it slow! It'll be multiplatform."

So far, there's no information on when Titanfall 2 might be offered and on whether there are any plans to create a clear connection between the two titles.

Apparently, the company is at the moment exploring a range of ideas, and presumably, once it settles on the core mechanics of the title, it will appeal to the community who played the first installment to test them out in a small alpha test.

Titanfall 2 might introduce a story campaign

The first Titanfall experience arrived on the Xbox One, the Xbox 360 and the PC and was one of the first titles to show off what the new home console from Microsoft could deliver in terms of both graphics and gameplay.

Respawn Entertainment has created a shooter which manages to mix the freedom of moving around as a Pilot with the feeling of power that comes from using the Titans to take out enemies.

One of the biggest criticisms about the first game was that the single player did not form a clear campaign, and that might be a focus for the sequel.

Zampella has also repeatedly said that his company is listening to all the feedback coming from fans and that many ideas will be integrated in its future titles.

Recently, all the map-based downloadable content for the first Titanfall was made free to gamers in order to thank them for their support.

Electronic Arts will probably offer a fuller look at Titanfall 2 in the coming weeks and gamers might also find out the official name for the sequel.
