After a pretty embarrassing leak a few weeks ago, Blizzard has officially admitted that its new massively multiplayer online game project is codenamed Titan, and that it is currently hiring a lot of people to work on it.

As you all know, Blizzard is the company behind the hugely successful World of Warcraft MMORPG, which is now being enjoyed by over 12 million paying subscribers and has just seen the record-breaking release of its third expansion, Cataclysm.

Blizzard isn't content with leaving things at that though, and has begun working on a new MMO title for some time now.

Only rumors and small details were known, but with the leak of the company's supposed release schedule, people finally knew about the existence of a project codenamed Titan.

Speaking with Destructoid, Blizzard's Senior Vice President, Frank Pearce, admitted that Titan was the company's new MMO project.

"The media is not supposed to know anything about that. It's our next-gen MMO project," said Pearce in an interview.

He then went on to say that the company wanted to leverage this reveal to hire new talent in order to work on the project.

"We've only started talking about it in a limited fashion because we want to leverage the fact that we're working on something like that for the purpose of recruiting - getting some of the best talent in the industry on that project."

No other details were added by Pearce, but, according to the leaked schedule, Titan is set to appear at the end of 2013, alongside the fifth expansion for World of Warcraft.

It's good to hear that Blizzard officially acknowledged the existence of its new project, but until 2013, expect a lot of speculation to appear about its gameplay, structure or setting.

Are you still happy with World of Warcraft or are you eagerly awaiting Titan?
