In a recent interview on Conan, “Justified” actor Timothy Olyphant opened up about the Internet rumors that he was offered the role of James Bond after Daniel Craig. He dismissed all the hype and said that all Internet-based rumors should be taken “with a grain of salt.” For Olyphant, this is not the first time he's been linked to a role he didn't land. He recalls the time the internet set him up to be the “Lone Ranger” and kids about the trouble it's caused him on set.

He was even publicly congratulated for landing the part. Conan jokingly adds, “you dodged that bullet,” referring to the film's poor ratings.

But speaking about his possible role as Bond, Olyphant claims he would try to add something new to the part. He would first change the accent, or lose it altogether “to keep it fresh.”

He then tried an Australian accent saying “I could do an accent if it’s absolutely necessary, I mean, I don’t want to lose the job right here.” But after doing an Australian accent, Conan replied “you just lost the audition right there.”

But he also said that James Bond needs to be “a little more chill.” “The last guy drank Heineken, it used to be martinis and bow ties, now he's drinking beers and I think the natural progression is … you know. Bong. James Bong!,” exclaimed Olyphant, as a wave of applause came in from the audience and Conan threw his head back in laughter.

In reality, the role of James Bond in the next film of the franchise will again be played by Daniel Craig, who returns for the fourth time as the tough British spy.

Helmed by director Sam Mendes, the movie is set for release in the autumn of 2015, and also stars Ralph Fiennes as M, Naomi Harris as Moneypenney and Ben Whishaw as Q.
