Dr. Conrad Murray, the personal doctor who was with Michael Jackson at the time ambulance and police arrived at his home on June 25, is currently the official target for the DEA and LAPD’s homicide investigation. Moreover, TMZ reports, because of certain inconsistencies in Murray’s statements and official records, the time of death for the King of Pop has come under question.

As police records indicate, Murray claimed he found Jackson’s body half an hour before calling 911, half an hour in which he desperately performed CPR on him in a vain attempt to get his heart beating again. However, police are now said to be looking into the estimated time of death, since it might have been much sooner than the doctor claims, as other reports also seem to suggest, says TMZ.

“Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Dr. Conrad Murray was not in Michael Jackson’s room when his heart stopped. As we first reported, authorities believe Jackson died from an overdose of the powerful anesthesia Propofol. Sources say the LAPD believes Dr. Murray may have administered it. This raises an even bigger question. Dr. Murray called 911 at 12:21 PM. He says he discovered Jackson in distress a half hour before. But why, then, did Dr. Murray’s employees make a sudden trip to the Dr.’s storage facility in Houston at 9:22 AM Los Angeles time? Could Jackson have been lifeless hours before the 911 call? We’re told by the storage facility manager the women who picked up 3 to 5 boxes became nervous when the manager began questioning them about why they were there.” TMZ writes in a recent post.

The same e-zine also reports that Murray is now officially the target of the homicide investigation, following a raid of his offices in Houston, Texas. As we also informed you, police were looking for medical records and evidence that the doctor may have, indeed, supplied Jackson with Propofol, the powerful anesthetic found in his house, and even administered to him despite the risks such an action entails if not performed by a trained anesthesiologist. An attorney for Murray has confirmed that the raid was meant to search for “items constituting evidence of the offense of manslaughter that tend to show that Dr. Conrad Murray committed said criminal offense.”

Speculation that Michael Jackson may have been dead hours before Dr. Murray called 911 to ask for an ambulance emerged as early as yesterday, when Dr. Steven Hoefflin, one of Michael’s longtime doctors and friend of the Jackson family, revealed in a shocking interview what he knew of the tragic day when the King of Pop died. According to Hoefflin, Murray administered Michael the Propofol IV and then fell asleep. He woke up two hours later to find the singer dead, at which time he summoned Michael’s son, Prince, to watch him perform CPR on the lifeless body of his father.
