Assuming you came across the means to go back in time, would you take anyone else with you, like a time-traveling companion of sorts? “Safety Not Guaranteed” assumes at least one man would do that.

Check out the first trailer for it above.

The film, which premiered at this year's Sundance Film Festival, is based on an idea Derek Connolly and Colin Treverrow got when they saw an ad in the newspaper.

They came up with the concept for the script: a man takes out an ad looking for a time-traveling companion, and three skeptic journalists set out to investigate the “case” and get the story of the man who dares to make such a bold claim.

“They discover a mysterious eccentric named Kenneth, a likable but paranoid supermarket clerk, who believes hes solved the riddle of time travel and intends to depart again soon,” reads the official synopsis.

“Together, they embark on a hilarious, smart, and unexpectedly heartfelt journey that reveals how far believing can take you,” adds the same.

Judging by the trailer, “Safety Not Guaranteed” plays out like a funny, quirky and sometimes just plain weird film. It will be out on June 8.
