Rapper and producer Timbaland was the subject of a massive manhunt the other day, after police issued an APB on his name saying he was probably on the verge of attempting suicide. It was just a misunderstanding, Timba explains.

The producer called in on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show to explain ongoing rumors about how he wanted to take his own life, being too stressed and upset about the theft of a $2 million watch that had occurred the previous day.

According to him, the entire situation was just a misunderstanding due to someone overreacting – out of concern and love for him, of course.

He woke up the next morning to hear on all media channels that he’d attempted suicide and, at first, he didn’t even know what people were talking about, though he was indeed escorted back home by police.

“I don’t know what happened to be honest with you. I don’t even know what people are talking about. [The theft] did happen, [but] it wasn’t a watch, it was something else,” Timbaland told Seacrest about the rumors making the rounds.

“The only thing that I did was take a drive to figure out how I was going to handle [the theft]. I wasn’t talking, so I guess people got worried. I tell people if my mom ain’t calling, or my brother or my best friend, then ain’t nothing to worry about,” the star added.

TMZ was the first to report that an APB was out on Timbaland’s name for a “possible suicide attempt.” Admittedly, the star got so upset over the theft that he chose go out for a drive.

When he did not return home, his family became so worried that they called the Sheriff’s Department to report him missing. His car was spotted near a cliff, which led to the issue of the APB as a possible suicide attempt.

“Timbaland was on the phone earlier in the day with his brother-in-law... deeply upset about something. We’re told one of the things that was eating at him was a theft at his Malibu residence a day before. Someone had stolen a crazy expensive Jacob & Co. watch – valued at $2 million – and Timbaland suspected it might have been someone he trusted,” TMZ reported.

“The helicopter located the Escalade, ground crews pulled Timbaland over and began talking to him. At some point they put Timbaland in a patrol car and took him to his residence, where they continued speaking with him and family members,” the same media outlet informed.

As Timbaland put it, he did not drive out seeking to end his life, but was merely looking for some time by himself to clear his head and see how she should handle the theft.
