14 DAY TRIAL // Tila Tequila's mental health has often been subject to speculation in the tabloid press, but the latest reports indicate there was some truth to all the rumors. The diminute reality star may have been left with permanent brain damage from an episode of a few weeks ago.
It's been months that nothing was heard about the controversial star in the press and Radar Online believes it's mostly because she's been battling her demons all alone.
A few weeks ago, when alone at home, Tila had a brain aneurysm, the e-zine has learned.
Unable to control herself, she swallowed a couple of bottles of heavy prescription drugs, overdosing on the spot.
She was hospitalized and is now believed to be back home – but her condition is not improving, making friends very worried.
“It was terrifying for Tila and death was knocking at her door. She was in two hospitals for the span of a week and is still not in perfect health, so she's going to check into an outpatient program,” one such friend shares for Radar.
According to the spy, Tila took the pills because she was trying to make the pain in the head go away. However, she wasn't rational at the time so she didn't realize she was over-medicating.
Had it not been for a text she sent to a friend, she would probably be dead now.
“Tila threw up all over her bed after overdosing and felt like she was dying. She was screaming for help, and in desperation, broke her bedroom window and attempted to jump out,” the spy says of the episode that put her in the hospital.
“Finally a friend came over after getting a strange text from her and found her convulsing on the bed. He called an ambulance and she was taken to the hospital,” adds the insider.
She's now at home, but she may have been scarred for life in the incident.
“It's sad to think she may have some permanent brain damage. She still can't fully speak properly,” says the unnamed source.
TMZ confirms the story and offers even more troubling details: just hours ago, Tila's manager called 911, worried that she might be doing something to harm herself.
A friend of hers told cops and paramedics that she'd been trying to kill herself all week.
