Today, mobile phone carrier Three UK went official with plans to add to its offering two new appealing smartphones, from Samsung, namely the Galaxy Pro and Galaxy Mini.

The new handsets should become available for purchase in the near future on the wireless carrier's airwaves, the company announced, but did not offer specific info on the availability date, nor on the price tag they might feature.

Samsung has had a great start to the year by bringing very strong smartphone contenders to market. We’re very excited to be adding the Samsung Galaxy Pro and the Samsung Galaxy Mini to our growing portfolio,” Sylvia Chind, Head of Branded Devices, commented.

The Samsung Galaxy Mini is an Android 2.2 Froyo-based device that already arrived on the market in the UK, on O2's network.

The smartphone comes with a 600MHz processor inside, a 3.14-inch capacitive touch screen (320 x 240 pixels), and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space, and a 2GB card included into the mix.

Moreover, the new device sports a 3-megapixel photo snapper on the back, as well as portable Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities, while measuring 110 x 61 x 12 mm.

The Samsung Galaxy Mini should be put on sale via Three UK stores, as well as on the carrier's website starting with April, dressed up in black & silver and black & green.

The Samsung Galaxy Pro went official today with a 2.8” touch screen display and a QWERTY keyboard in a candybar form factor.

Running under Google’s Android 2.2 (Froyo) platform, the phone sports an 800MHz processor inside, along with 3MP Full Focus Camera, Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities, and microSD memory card slot, in a device that measures 108 .6 x 66.7 x 10.6 mm.

“We’re very excited about the Samsung Galaxy Pro – it’s great to add new form factors to our range of smartphones. I personally love Samsung’s hubs and being able to offer our customers the Social Hub Premium for free is an added bonus,” Sylvia Chind commented.

“The Samsung Galaxy Pro also comes with Samsung’s Social Hub Premium for free, allowing people to manage their social lives from one central place,” the wireless carrier explained. The phone integrates favorite services, including Instant Messaging, e-mail (work and personal accounts) and social networks.
