As its product lineup proves quite well, ViewSonic is a company that targets especially those users whose budgets are not exactly unlimited, people who are looking for mainstream-grade, solid products which, however, can be found at pretty affordable price points. And that's also the case with the company's latest announcement, related to its new 62 Series projectors, which combine a fairly lightweight and portable form factor with several other interesting features, without going too far with the prices.

The three new models from this series, namely the PJD6220, PJD6230 and PJD6240, combine a 1024x768 native resolution and 2000:1 contrast ratio with brightness of 2,300 (PJD6220), 2,700 (PJD6230) and 3,200 (PJD6240) lumens to provide sharp images and natural color, even in sunny classrooms.

Other features that could really prove their worth during presentations are the 2x5-watt, built-in speakers, as well as the multiple connectivity options, which include RGB, composite and S-Video input capabilities. The devices also support networking features, since they come packed with a RJ-45 jack.

Furthermore, the projectors also include a closed captioning function to accommodate the needs of the hearing impaired. The devices are designed for table-top use or can be easily mounted on the ceiling, while the conveniently placed lamp and easy air filter access help users make changes in a very fast manner.

Additionally, the Eco Mode function provides power efficiency by reducing fan noise output, which in turn extends lamp life up to 4,000 hours.

As mentioned earlier, the new projectors from ViewSonic are quite affordable, retailing starting somewhere at around 900 US dollars, which will most likely make them quite attractive both for the education and the business sectors.
