While the user is moving, the phones regenerate power

Innovative mobile phone developer, ModelLabs Group presented three environment-friendly mobile phone concepts, all capable of recycling solar and/or kinetic energy in order to regenerate power.

Each mobile phone is optimized for a different type of user and lifestyle, but what all three concept phones have in common is the ability to draw electric power from the movement of their user and built-in solar cells, which means that eliminating the battery of mobile phones might be just one step away. Apart from being environment-friendly, the three concept phones also manage to bring a very unique design.

You can see ModeLabs' concept phone, going under the name of Yoyo, in the photo. The Yoyo is designed to be worn about the neck and has the interesting ability of constantly recharging while it swings and bounces around.

Apart from the recharge it receives while its user is moving, the Yoyo also uses the built-in photovoltaic cells to exploit solar energy. ModeLabs also unveiled The U-Turn, designed for business users, which recharges when the user opens and closes the Azerty keyboard the phone comes with.

Last but not least, the third concept phone, Runaway has been designed for athletes or people always on the move, as the name clearly suggests. The concept phone can be mounted on the handlebars of a mountain bike or the wrist of the user and fully takes advantage of the movement of the user, using it to regenerate power.

Although ModeLabs has not made any official announcement concerning the release of these three concept phones, and it is not certain whether they'll even reach production, hopefully more info will be provided soon.
