Thomas Gibson, star of the comedy “Dharma & Greg” and “Criminal Minds,” got catfished. The actor, who is married and has 3 children, embarked on an online affair with a woman he’d never met, sending her the video included below, at the end of this article.

It was made public by TMZ, which also reports that the actor was actually on vacation with his family when he made and sent the video to the woman.

As per the Urban Dictionary, “a catfish is someone who pretends to be someone they're not using Facebook or other social media to create false identities, particularly to pursue deceptive online romances.”

The term became widely circulated (also as a verb) after 2010 film of the same name, a faux documentary into online relationships.

TMZ says even Gibson fell for a catfish.

“Brace yourselves, this might be the most hilariously embarrassing video we've ever seen – sent by ‘Criminal Minds’ star Thomas Gibson to a random stranger on the Internet... after he got catfished hook, line, and sinker,” the e-zine writes.

“A woman contacted Gibson on Twitter roughly two years ago, using a photo of a scantily clad woman, and told Gibson she was a huge fan. Gibson took the bait. The woman – who refused to tell us her age or name – is from North Dakota. She says she carried on a 2-year relationship with Gibson (who's married),” TMZ adds.

The two exchanged photos and videos but, while Gibson sent real material he shot himself, she only used material from adult websites.

Even so, she tells the publication, they developed feelings and had the closest thing to an actual affair.

“Everything was going well until a few months ago, when she got a letter from Gibson's lawyers demanding she cut off contact... because Gibson had discovered her pics were fake,” TMZ adds.

You can hear Gibson in the video saying everybody (meaning his wife and kids) are downstairs, playing a game.

Asked about the video on Twitter, he insists the entire story is a lie and, even if it weren’t, “no one’s business.”
