There are plenty of folks in this world who have subjected their poor, defenseless four-wheelers to some seriously extreme makeovers, but it's doubtful that there are all that many people who can brag about having installed a fully functional stove in their car.

54-year-old Li Xiufang, who now lives in the city of Yangjiang in China, is among these people. That's right, this lady's car is equipped with an actual stove. Check out the photos accompanying this article if you're having trouble believing us.

Why would anyone install a stove in their car?

It is understood that 54-year-old Li Xiufang makes a living selling antifreeze by the side of the road. What this means is that the woman spends hours on end sitting in her car, waiting for customers.

Were she to keep the engine running to stay warm, she would surely go through loads of fuel on a daily basis. Needless to say, the 54-year-old can't really afford to waste fuel. Otherwise, she probably wouldn't be selling antifreeze by the side of the road.

Li Xiufang says that it was her husband who helped her install the stove in her car. To make room for it, the couple first had to remove the passenger seat. To make sure that the woman stays safe when using the stove, her husband even set a chimney in place.

The 54-year-old says that she uses the stove not only to keep warm while waiting for customers but also to make tea or warm her meals. Every once in a while, she offers a cup of tea to the people who stop to buy antifreeze from her, Metro informs.

Is putting a stove in a car even legal?

The woman admits that, shortly after she and her husband installed the stove in the car, she was pulled over by some police officers who could not help but notice the chimney sticking out of her vehicle and wanted to know what it was and how it got there.

At first, the police officers considered issuing a fine. However, when the woman explained that she only used the stove when the car was parked, they agreed that she hadn't done anything illegal and simply allowed her to go back to business as usual.

As entertaining as the idea to drive around with a stove or some other household appliance in the passenger seat might sound, it's important to keep in mind that modifying one's car is tricky business. Simply put, it's best if you refrain from following Li Xiufang's example and don't try to install a stove inside your ride.
