Some folks have to work seriously hard for their money. That's the way it's been for centuries and that's the way it will be for ages to come. Then again, chances are these guys and gals aren't nearly as endearing and totally adorbs as Bella Mia.

Thanks to her good looks and awesome personality, this pooch stands to inherit about $1 million (€0.86 million) from her owner, a 60-year-old accountant named Rose Ann Bolasny who now lives in Little Neck, an upper middle class neighborhood in New York City, US.

Why would anyone leave a fortune to their dog?

Owner Rose Ann Bolasny insists that, ever since she got Bella Mia about 3 years ago, the pooch has done nothing but brighten up each and every day of her life. To return the favor, the accountant has done her best to spoil her pet senseless.

Thus, The New York Post tells us that Rose Ann Bolasny likes to buy Bella Mia all sorts of outfits and even jewelry. Besides, word has it that, only last year, the woman spent a whopping $100,000 (about €86,500) on grooming sessions for her pet Maltese.

Mind you, Rose Ann Bolasny and her husband Robert are not childless. On the contrary, they have two sons together, Louis, 38, and Robert, 32. Still, they insist that, seeing how they are all grown up and independent now, their kids don't mind the fact that the couple want to leave a fortune to their dog.

“We decided that we had given her such a lavish life that we wanted to make sure she’d still have what she was accustomed to when I was gone,” 60-year-old Rose Ann Bolasny explained why she wants to leave jewelry, a trust fund and even a vacation home to her dog.

“They [sons Louis and Robert] feel fine, because they’re getting more than Bella Mia. My children are grown, and successful. They don’t need my money. They know how happy she has made my husband and I,” the accountant went on to add.

Bella Mia is well worthy of the fortune she is to inherit

Some might assume that, seeing how her owners are, well filthy rich, Bella Mia does nothing but eat treats and chill by the side of the pool day in, day out. The thing is that this is by no means the case. This pooch has a seriously active life and even does volunteer work.

Thus, she often visits local hospitals and nursing homes, looking to bring a smile on people's faces. Besides, she likes to take part in all sorts of competition. Mind you, she even won the New York Pet Fashion Show in 2013 and 2014, and the 2014 Puppy Prom. Simply put, she is no ordinary dog.
