Unfortunately, copyright issues seem to have left their mark

The 2012 Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition, October 13-16) is where many Asian technology companies gathered to show off their stuff. Chinese company Newmen was one of them.

If there hadn't been any copyright laws forbidding the reproduction of Iron Man's red and gold color theme, Newmen might have created a genuine replica of the superhero's mask.

Alas, that is not the case, so onlookers, and customers for that matter, have to settle for the condescending stare of a face designed with black and silver. Some have red and brown accents, even special designs like tears.

The eyes light up in bright blue whenever the mouse is moved or a button clicked. It isn't exactly energy-efficient but, then again, that was never the point. If it had been, Newmen may have even created a wireless model. As it is, the battery would be depleted too quickly.

Unfortunately, we don't know what price the mice have, nor the arrival date. It is possible that only Asian customers will have access to them.
